Airport Information

Vancouver International Airport
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is served by most major international airlines. It is 18 kilometers (11 miles) from The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and the journey takes between 30 and 40 minutes by car.

Driving Directions

• Leaving the airport, follow signs to the city center via Granville Street
• Follow Granville Street until you have crossed the Granville Street Bridge
• Once over the bridge, turn left onto Drake Street (the first stop light after the Granville Street Bridge)
• Follow Drake Street two blocks to Hornby Street
• Turn right onto Hornby Street
• Proceed along Hornby Street to The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (on your left-hand side, a half block past Robson Street)
• Turn left into the main entrance of the hotel

Airport Shuttle
Airporter Bus Lines runs a shuttle from Vancouver International Airport to The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. It is located on the 2nd level of the airport.

• The shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes to and from the airport / hotel from 5:30 am to 7:00 am
• After 7:00 am, pickup is every 15 minutes from the Burrard Street doors of the hotel
• Travel time is approximately 45 minutes
• If you are traveling with two or more people, a taxi is recommended

Taxis
A taxi to The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver from Vancouver International Airport costs approximately CAD 26.00 to CAD 28.00 one way and takes from 30 to 40 minutes.

Cruise Ships
Cruise ship terminals can be found at Canada Place and Ballantyne Pier.

Canada Place
Located just four blocks from The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, most cruise ships arrive at Canada Place.

Ballantyne Pier
Located 14 blocks from the hotel, it is a ten-minute cab ride away from The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Only a few cruise ships arrive here, including Radiance of the Seas, Vision of the Seas, and Serenade of the Seas.

Please note, the bellmen cannot pick up luggage from either terminal. If you require assistance, the cruise ship personnel will sometimes arrange for that. Usually, guests simply get the taxi driver to assist with luggage.

Coaches
Pacific Central Station is where visitors can find Greyhound and Pacific Coach Lines bus services. Pacific Central Station is located at 1150 Station Street, a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The journey should cost approximately CAD 8.00 to CAD 10.00 by taxi.

Pacific Coach Lines
Pacific Coach Lines provides a coach service from Vancouver to Victoria and Whistler. The Victoria service terminates at 700 Douglas Street, Victoria.

Pacific Coach Lines will also pick you up at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and bring you to the bus terminal for your transfer to Victoria-bound buses. The journey time is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes. The service is also available to Whistler. For prices or schedule:

Train Information
The nearest train station is Pacific Central Station at 1150 Station Street, 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) from The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. It is approximately a 15-minute taxi ride from the hotel. Pacific Central Station runs rail, Rocky Mountaineer, and Amtrak services.

Local Transportation

SkyTrain
Vancouver's subway transit system train runs above ground in some areas and below in other areas. The system is broken into three different transit zones, which indicate how many tickets you must purchase in order to get to a specific attraction. It is located less than a five-minute walk from The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

The Burrard SkyTrain Station is one block away from The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, and guests can travel from here to the Main Street SkyTrain, which is usefully located opposite Pacific Central Station.

The SkyTrain is not recommended for people with lots of luggage, as it is an uphill walk to The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

Seaplanes and HeliJet
Seaplanes and HeliJet offer a harbor-to-harbor service between Vancouver and Victoria. Both are a five-minute cab ride away from The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

From Seattle, WA:
Approximately a three-hour drive, depending on how long the delay is at the border.

• Travel north on I-5 from Seattle across the border
• I-5 will turn into Hwy 99, which will again turn into Oak Street
• Proceed across Oak Street Bridge and along Oak Street
• Turn left onto Broadway and drive until Granville Street
• Turn right onto Granville Street
• Proceed across the Granville Street Bridge and turn left at Drake Street
• Go two blocks to Hornby Street and turn right
• Proceed along Hornby to the hotel, which is on your left side, a half block past Robson Street

From Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal:

The Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal is 24 miles south of Vancouver and runs services to and from Victoria, Nanaimo, and the southern Gulf Islands. It is approximately 45 minutes' drive from The Fairmont Vancouver.

• As you exit the ferry terminal you will be on Hwy 17 traveling east
• Proceed east until you get to Hwy 99 then go north
• Once on Hwy 99 you will go through a tunnel and across the Oak Street Bridge; at this point Hwy 99 becomes Oak Street
• Travel along Oak Street until you reach Broadway
• Turn left onto Broadway until you reach Granville Street
• Turn right onto Granville Street and go across the Granville Street Bridge
• Once over the bridge, turn left onto Drake Street (the first stop light you come to after the Granville Street Bridge)
• Follow Drake Street two blocks to Hornby Street
• Proceed along Hornby Street to The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (on your left-hand side, a half block past Robson Street)
• Turn left into the main entrance of the hotel

Valet or Self Parking
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver's car park is situated in a covered parkade, adjacent to the hotel. The entrance is located on Hornby Street. Both self and valet parking are charged at CAD 27.00 per day including taxes and 24-hour in / out privileges.

• You must notify the Front Desk of parking so you can be issued a pass for in / out privileges
• Both self and valet may be charged to the guest room. Debit, cash, and all major credit cards are taken
• Height restriction is 6' 3"; over-height parking is also available one block away
