Airport Information

Kona International Airport at Keahole
Kona International Airport (KOA) is 20 miles / 32 kilometers (30 minutes) southwest of the resort.

Driving Directions

• Turn left at the stoplight exiting the airport onto Queen Ka'ahumanu Hwy 19
• Remain on Hwy 19 for 19.5 miles / 31 kilometers
• The entrance to Mauna Lani Resort is located on your left (the ocean side of the highway) approximately one mile north of the Waikoloa intersection
• Enter the resort on Mauna Lani Drive and proceed past the security building the roundabout (traffic circle) to the roundabout (traffic circle)
• Enter the circle, yielding to traffic
• Take the first right turn / cut-off, which is North Kaniku Drive
• Stay on North Kaniku Drive until you reach the main entrance to The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii at the end of the drive

A typical taxi fare to or from Kona International Airport is USD 57.00 plus tax and gratuity. Taxis are readily available at the airport. To return to the airport from the hotel, call the Bell Desk in advance to arrange a pick up.

Hilo International Airport
Hilo International Airport (ITO) is 70 miles / 113 kilometers (1 hour 45 minutes) northeast of the The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii.

Driving Directions

• From Kekuanaoa Street (Airport Road), turn right onto Kanoelehua Street
• Turn left onto Kamehameha Avenue. Continue as lane merges to the right onto Hwy 19
• Remain on Hwy 19 to Waimea and then head right towards Kawaihae
• Continue for 11 miles / 18 kilometers down Kawaihae Road and turn left to continue on Hwy 19
• Approximately 7 miles / 11 kilometers away, a sign will note Mauna Lani Drive
• Turn right onto Mauna Lani Drive and proceed for about a mile to the roundabout (traffic circle)
• Enter the circle, yielding to traffic
• Take the first right turn / cut-off, which is North Kaniku Drive
• Stay on North Kaniku Drive for about a mile until you reach the main entrance to The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii at the end of the drive

Inter-Island Flights
Flying in is the only way to get to the Big Island of Hawaii from The Fairmont Kea Lani on Maui or from other Hawaiian islands. Go!Airlines and Hawaiian Air both offer inter-island flights. Check their websites for current schedules.

Driving Directions

Driving to Kona:
The town of Kona is about a 45-minute drive south from the hotel. Exit the resort, take a right onto the main road and follow the signs to Kona, approximately six miles past the airport.

Driving to Waimea:
The town of Waimea is about a 25-minute drive northeast from the hotel. Exit the resort, take a left onto the main road and follow the signs to Waimea.

Driving to the Volcanoes National Park:
Contact the Concierge Desk at +1 (808) 887-7320 if you are planning a day trip to this park for insider information. The Concierge will provide a map, driving directions, points of interest, and practical advice. The park is three hours from The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii.
