Airport Information
San Francisco International Airport
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the city's premier airport and is served by most major airlines. It is 30 to 40 minutes from The Fairmont San Francisco.
Driving Directions
- Take Hwy 101 North into the city (Hwy 101 North can be accessed from Hwy 280 North)
- Stay in the left lane and follow the signs for Hwy 101 North, Golden Gate Bridge (USD 5.00 toll)
- Take the 9th Street / Civic Center exit
- Make a half left onto 9th Street
- Go five blocks to Market Street; stay in the right lane
- When you cross over Market Street, 9th becomes Larkin Street
- Go 14 blocks on Larkin Street and turn right onto California Street
- Go five blocks on California Street and turn left onto Mason Street
Oakland International Airport
Oakland International Airport (OAK) is 25 miles (40 kilometers) from The Fairmont San Francisco. Depending on traffic, it should take 40 minutes to get to the hotel.
Driving Directions
- On exiting Oakland Airport, take Hwy 880 North
- Follow the signs for Bay Bridge, San Francisco
- Cross Bay Bridge (USD 3.00 toll)
- Take the first exit in San Francisco (Fremont Street)
- Follow Fremont Street for two and a half blocks up to, and across, Market Street. You will now be on Front Street
- Follow Front Street for one block to California Street. Get in your left lane.
- Turn left onto California Street
- Follow California Street for eight blocks to Mason Street
- Turn right at Mason Street

You do not need reservations for a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, but make prior arrangements with the Concierge to go from the hotel to the airport. SFO shuttle bus services are located one level above the baggage claim area. OAK shuttle bus services are located outside the baggage claim area.

Train Information
Caltrain
Caltrain is a regional train service that provides commuter rail service between San Francisco and Gilroy, via San Jose. The Caltrain station is 1.5 miles or about a USD 10.00 cab ride / ten-minute drive from the hotel.
Amtrak
Amtrak has two stops that service the San Francisco area. The closest stop is 7.3 miles from the hotel in Emeryville. Cable cars operate seven days a week and run from right outside the hotel. Tickets can be purchased at turnarounds or from the conductor as you board.

- Go eight blocks and turn left onto Van Ness Avenue
- When you cross Market Street, Van Ness Avenue becomes South Van Ness
- Follow South Van Ness to Howard
- Turn right onto Howard
- Hwy 101 South entrance is on the other side of the intersection
From the Hotel to Bay Bridge (East Bay):
- From our front door, turn left onto California Street
- Go seven blocks and turn right onto Battery Street
- When you cross Market Street, Battery Street becomes 1st Street
- 1st Street will take you directly onto Bay Bridge on ramp (USD 3.00 toll)
From the Hotel to Golden Gate Bridge (North Bay):
- From our front door, turn right onto California Street
- Go eight blocks and turn right onto Van Ness Avenue
- Go 11 blocks and turn left onto Lombard Street
- Lombard Street will take you directly onto the Golden Gate Bridge (USD 5.00 toll)
From East Bay to the Hotel:
- Take Hwy 80 West over the Bay Bridge (USD 3.00 toll)
- Take the Fremont Street exit off Bay Bridge (Fremont Street is the first San Francisco exit on the right)
- Turn left at the bottom of the exit onto Fremont Street
- Get into the right lane and go two blocks until Market Street
- When you cross over Market Street, Fremont Street becomes Front Street
- Go two blocks on Front and turn left onto California Street
- Go eight blocks up California and turn right onto Mason Street
From South Bay to the Hotel:
- Take Hwy 101 North into the city (Hwy 101 North can be accessed from Hwy 280 North)
