Cairo International Airport
The airport is located in Heliopolis, 22km (13.7 miles) northeast of central Cairo and 40km (24.9 miles) from the Giza Pyramids. There are two Terminals; Terminal 1 is known as the Old Airport, whilst Terminal 2 is known as the New Airport.

Driving Directions
From Cairo International Airport: five minutes by car on Uruba Street or Salah Salem St.
From downtown Cairo: 30 minutes by car

Taxis
Taxis are available at any time, and operated on a flat fee basis. Official Cairo taxis are predominantly black and white. These taxis are individually owned and operated.
Cairo international taxis are yellow. These taxis tend to be cleaner, well maintained and a bit more expensive than the black and white taxis.

Train Information
A typical rail journey in Egypt might begin at Rameses Station, the major hub of rail transportation centrally located in Cairo.
Egypt has a remarkably good - and cheap - rail network. Egyptian trains offer four classes of accommodation 1st class air-conditioned, 2nd class air-conditioned, 2nd class ordinary (better thought of as 3rd class), and 3rd class (better thought of as 4th class)
The sleeper trains run between Cairo and Aswan. Leaving from Ramsis Station in Cairo, this train makes few stops: Giza Station, Assyuit, Luxor, and Aswan.
