Airport Information

Vancouver International Airport
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is served by most major international flights. It is 18 kilometers from The Fairmont Waterfront.

Driving Directions

• Depart from the airport on Grant McConachie Way
• Take the exit marked Vancouver-Downtown and cross over the Arthur Laing Bridge
• Move to the right-hand lane of the bridge
• Take the Granville Street exit
• Follow Granville Street to 16th Avenue (approximately 60 blocks) and turn left
• Proceed three blocks to Burrard Street, turn right
• Follow Burrard Street across the Burrard Street Bridge through downtown until you reach Canada Place Way at the very end of Burrard Street
• Turn right and proceed one block
• The Fairmont Waterfront is located on your right-hand side

Canada Line
Vancouver's Skytrain subway transit system that runs directly from YVR to The Fairmont Waterfront.  The trains run above ground in some areas and below ground in others.

Directions From YVR to The Fairmont Waterfront:
The main entrance to the Canada Line is through the "Link" building between the Domestic Terminal Building and the International Terminal Building. The FairmontWaterfront is located directly above Waterfront Station.

Directions from The Fairmont Waterfront to YVR:
The main entrance to the Canada Line at Waterfront Station will be through the Station at Cordova/Seymour Streets.The Canada Line station can be accessed by underground tunnel via the station directly under The Fairmont Waterfront:

• Enter the station below the hotel
• Cross the platform and up the stairs/ escalator on opposite side of platform
• Enter Waterfront Station
• Follow signage to Platform 3

Passengers can transfer directly between Canada Line and Sky Train only at Waterfront or Vancouver City Centre (Granville/Georgia) Stations. There will be two different trains running on the Canada Line: trains marked "YVR" for the airport and trains marked "Richmond-Bridhouse" for Richmond.Be sure to board the YVR train if their destination is the airport.

First train departs 4:50am, arrives 5:15am
Last train departs 1:05am, arrives 1:30am

YVR - Waterfront Station
First train departs 5:10am, arrives 5:30am
Last train departs 12:55am arrives 1:23am

Travel time from Waterfront Station to YVR is 26 minutes.
During peak hours 6:30am to 6:30pm, trains will run every 7 minutes.
From 6:30pm to 11pm, trains will run every 12-15 minutes and from 11pm onwards every 20 minutes.

Fare Information:
Regular TransLink fares will be in effect-for example, YVR to Waterfront Station will be a 2 zone fare of $3.75.

All stations have elevators, special Canada Line service staff in distinctive green uniforms, and airport check in kiosks Fare machines are very similar to TransLink machines, but have many more options for users to choose their language of choice.

Fare machines accept Canadian cash, debit cards, Visa and MasterCard and give change.

Taxis and Limousines

Taxis
Taxis are readily available. A ride from Vancouver International Airport to The Fairmont Waterfront should cost approximately CAD $30.00

Limousines

Cruise Ship Information
Cruise ship terminals can be found at Canada Place and Ballantyne Pier.

Canada Place
The Fairmont Waterfront is connected underground to Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal. The majority of cruise ships into Vancouver arrive at Canada Place.

Ballantyne Pier
Located ten blocks from The Fairmont Waterfront, or a five-minute cab ride (about CAD 10.00). Only a few cruise ships arrive here, including Radiance of the Seas, Vision of the Seas, and Serenade of the Seas.

The bellmen cannot pick up luggage from the terminal. Guests can simply get the taxi driver to assist with luggage.

Coach Information
Pacific Central Station is where visitors can find Greyhound and Pacific Coach Lines bus services. Pacific Central Station is located at 1150 Station Street, a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The journey should cost approximately CAD 10.00 by taxi.

Greyhound
Greyhound buses provide service from Vancouver to Seattle.

Pacific Coach Lines provides a coach service from Vancouver to Victoria and Whistler. The Victoria service terminates at 700 Douglas Street, Victoria. The journey time is approximately three-and-a-half hours.

Provides service from Vancouver to Seattle or vice-versa.

Train Information
VIA Rail Pacific Station (Main Street) is located a 15-minute drive from the hotel. The journey to the hotel will cost approximately CAD 10.00 by taxi. If guests wish to use Amtrak's service to and from Seattle they should call in advance:

Local Transportation

SkyTrain
Vancouver's subway transit system train runs above ground in some areas and below ground in others. The system is divided into three different transit zones, which indicate how many tickets you must purchase in order to get to a specific attraction. The SkyTrain stops underneath The Fairmont Waterfront.

The light rail service also has transit stops across the street from The Fairmont Waterfront.

Seaplanes
Seaplanes offer a harbor-to-harbor service between Vancouver and Victoria. Departure points are within walking distance of The Fairmont Waterfront. Call the hotel or contact Harbor Air directly on:

Driving Directions and Distances

From Seattle, Washington to Vancouver:
Driving time is approximately three hours (depending on how long you get held up at the border crossing).

• From Seattle, proceed north on Interstate 5 (I-5)
• At the Canada / US border, Peace Arch crossing, I-5 becomes Hwy 99 in Canada
• Hwy 99 passes through the municipalities of Whiterock, Delta, and Richmond
• As you exit Richmond, Hwy 99 will cross the Oak Street Bridge into the City of Vancouver (Hwy 99 is also known as Oak Street at this point)
• Follow Oak Street to 12th Avenue (approximately 60 blocks) and turn left
• Proceed to Burrard Street (approximately eight blocks), turn right
• Follow Burrard Street across the Burrard Street Bridge through downtown until you reach Canada Place Way at the very end of Burrard Street
• Turn right and proceed one block
• The Fairmont Waterfront is located on your right-hand side

From Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal to The Fairmont Waterfront:
The Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal is 24 miles south of Vancouver and runs services to and from Victoria, Nanaimo, and the southern Gulf Islands. It is approximately 45 minutes' drive from The Fairmont Waterfront.

• Take Hwy 17 north when you leave the ferry terminal
• Then take Hwy 99, which will cross the Oak Street Bridge into the City of Vancouver (Hwy 99 is also known as Oak Street at this point)
• Follow Oak Street to 12th Avenue (approximately 60 blocks) and turn left
• Proceed to Burrard Street (approximately eight blocks), turn right

Parking Information
Self or valet parking costs CAD $34.00 (including GST) from 6:00pm to 6:00pm the following day. Self and valet parking may be charged to the room account or paid by cash, Visa, MasterCard or Amex. In and out privileges are included. If self-parking, you must collect a parking pass from the Front Desk. Over-height vehicles (over 1.9 metres / 6' 7") are parked in outdoor parking at the same rate.

Long-Term Parking
